Why are you able to stab people from a meter away? I've been stabbed from 3 meters a few times. |

It's easily possible if the guy drops it and then watches the RE from a distance. If you rig an objective with a RE, you can get a kill from several hundred metres away. If I do this, at the end of the match, the EOM report will say something like 'Longest Kill - 223.74 metres'.

You have to catch your enemies off guard when you start using them for the first time unlike any other weapon, but just like melee and the plasma cannon. When you get more experienced you can take people on head-on, and even purely speed tank your suit, run without a cloak around until you meet somebody to run 11+ metres/second at then stab them in the face. Nova knives are a niche weapon.
